Wallbridge Gilbert Aztec (WGA)

“We found it extremely easy...in reality it was no different to employing a candidate that was raised in Australia.”

Adelaide-based engineering consultancy firm, Wallbridge Gilbert Aztec (WGA), was established more than 30 years ago and employs 270 staff across Australia.

Huy Le started working at WGA as a graduate engineer in 2017. He secured the role after completing his engineering degree as a Vietnamese international student at the University of South Australia.

Beyond his strong technical ability, Huy has contributed to the business through his understanding of WGA clients that come from different cultures.

Huy was recruited by Nathan Silby, Director and Senior Civil Engineer at WGA, who believes the process of hiring an international graduate is no different to hiring a local graduate.

“We always try to employ the best person for the role and they must fit into our company,” said Nathan.

“He just seemed like the right fit for our role.

“We found [the process] extremely easy, Huy was well briefed on what he needed to do, and in reality it was no different to employing a candidate that was raised in Australia,” he said.
